Our Angel Festival is back for 2024, with more opportunities for you to create amazing angels and fill the Minster. Schools, local groups and individuals are invited to make angels in the following catagories:
A musical angel: Angels are often depicted playing harps or trumpets but be as creative as you like!
A nature angel: Try using sticks, leaves, plants, flowers, shells etc to create your angel.
A recycled angel: Try reusing materials such as bubble wrap, packaging, plastic bottles or anything that might otherwise go to waste.
Angels can be free-standing or for a table top display. Please note that any fairy lights used must be battery operated.
All entries cost £10.00
Or:
A textile angel: Knit, sew or crochet your angel to join a host of angels in a fabulous art installation in the Minster. We’ll be holding a workshop in the run-up to the festival so keep an eye out for that, but please start making them at home and sending them into the Minster. Angels should be no more that 8 inches or 20cm tall. Textile angels can be submitted free of charge.
Set up will be on Friday 13th December from 9.30 am to 2pm. The festival opens at 4pm on the Friday with mince pies, mulled wine and hot chocolate.
