We hope you want to visit the Minster, the largest of the parish’s three churches, indeed the largest parish church in England and bigger than many  cathedrals.

Come and follow our new heritage trail around the church to discover some of the Minster’s key visitor highlights and learn more about its history.

We endeavour to open daily for visitors with our eager band of Minster volunteers on hand to greet you. Admission is free but donations are most welcome. We rely upon volunteers to open our doors and we are open every morning, 10.00-12 noon.

If you are travelling a long way specifically to visit the church, please contact us via the Contact Us page at least 72 hours ahead to confirm our opening hours.

You will find lots more information via the side menu about visiting this impressive, atmospheric church, bigger than many of the UK’s cathedrals.
