Coming to church for the first time can feel unfamiliar. You are welcome to come as you are, take things at your own pace and ask for help.
When you arrive
A member of the welcome team can help you find a seat and the service sheet. If you would like, let them know it is your first visit.
What happens in the service?
Services include prayers, Bible readings and often music and a sermon. The service sheet helps you follow along; words for everyone to say are usually printed in bold.
At Holy Communion, also called the Eucharist, bread and wine are shared. If you are unsure what to do, ask the welcome team or the priest. You are welcome to remain in your seat.
Do I have to join in?
There is no pressure to sing, speak or stand. Join in as much or as little as feels comfortable, and stay seated whenever you need to.
What should I wear? Is there a charge?
There is no dress code and no charge to attend worship. Any collection is voluntary.
