Welcome to our weekly notices for Sunday 4 October 2026, the Eighteenth Sunday after Trinity. In this week’s reflection, Revd Jassica considers Christ as our cornerstone and the hope God brings when we feel overlooked or uncertain. Across the parish, the coming week offers opportunities for music, friendship, learning and worship.
Highlights for the week ahead
Small Sounds at the Minster
Our friendly music group for children aged 0–5 and their parents or carers meets at Great Yarmouth Minster on Wednesday 7 October at 10.00 am. Come along for singing, musical play, rhythm and movement, and an opportunity to make new friends.
Saturday’s Bible Course
The Bible Course meets on Saturday 10 October at 11.30 am in the Minster Vestry. Join the group as we continue exploring the Bible together. Vestry Hour is also listed that morning at 10.00 am.
St Fursey Pilgrim Service at Burgh Castle
On Sunday 11 October at 3.00 pm, there will be a St Fursey Pilgrim Service at Burgh Castle Church. Afterwards, an optional walk leads to the monument, with refreshments at the Village Hall. Those who prefer not to walk can go directly to the Village Hall.
Could you help at Faith House?
A grant from Great Yarmouth Borough Council has been secured to complete the refurbishment of Faith House with Hope into Action. Help is needed with gardening, decorating, DIY and furnishings, alongside a Friendship and Support volunteer. Please see the notice sheet for Pam’s contact details if you could lend a hand.
Sunday Worship with Holy Communion on 11 October is at 9.30 am at St Paul’s Church, Salisbury Road, 10.30 am at Great Yarmouth Minster and 11.00 am at St Mary’s Church, Southtown Road.
