Great Yarmouth Minster is hosting a display of ecclesiastical silverware not normally seen by the public. All of the items have a local connection and have historical interest for our community having been rescued from several local churches. We are also opening our bell tower for people to visit our ringing chamber. This involves a climb and needs a head for heights so we recommend that this is only undertaken by reasonably fit individuals. The set of twelve bells in the Minster is considered to be one of the finest in East Anglia and this is a rare opportunity to see the bell ropes and perhaps consider taking up bell-ringing – a an excellent physical and mental activity as well as bringing the benefits of being part of a team.
