On Maundy Thursday evening at the end of the service we creep out a quiet as church mice trying not to disturb those who remain in silent prayer. It is a reminder of how at the time of his suffering, the friends of Jesus slipped quietly away in awkward silence and worried regret. Come Easter Day it has all changed. We are compelled to shout boldly with the joy of resurrection and ring bells and sing hymns with gusto. That change for the disciples must have taken time: time for them to think and brood on what they had done before they could speak up with confidence in the light of resurrection. The light of Easter changes everything for us and helps banish our indifference. Find your voice and proclaim resurrection this weekend and in doing so, may you find a confidence in faith as you walk in the steps of our risen Lord.
